Privacy
Up Next is a small, invite-only project shared between friends. It isn't affiliated with YouTube or Mat Armstrong.
Up Next uses YouTube API Services. Your use of YouTube through Up Next is also covered by the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
What it stores
- Your Google account ID, email address and name, so you can sign in.
- An encrypted Google access token, used to check which Mat Armstrong videos you've liked and to update the private playlists it creates for you.
- Which videos you've marked as watched, and your settings.
- If you import your YouTube watch history from Google Takeout, the file is read once and thrown away. Only the Mat Armstrong videos in it, and when you watched them, are kept. Nothing else from your history is stored.
What it does with your YouTube account
- Reads whether you've liked Mat Armstrong's videos, and nothing else about your activity.
- Creates and edits only its own private playlists: “Mat Armstrong – Up Next”, plus any single-build playlists you turn on.
- Never posts, comments, subscribes, likes, uploads or changes anything else.
Sharing
Your data isn't sold or shared with anyone. It's only sent to Google, to read your likes and update your playlists through the YouTube API. Video titles and descriptions (public information, never anything about you) are sent to OpenAI to group Mat's videos into builds.
Removing your data
Go to Settings and choose Delete account. You can also remove Up Next's access at any time from your Google account permissions.
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
